Snowman

Our first snowman of the year is also our first with hair. Six stuck pine needles on his head, giving him straight, green hair that stands on end. Nestled in a secluded clearing in our wooded yard, this man has grapes for his eyes and nose. Our creation led me to think of the snow people we have made in the past, whose faces have been made with brussels sprouts, raisins, and of course, carrots. It also reminded me to pull out one of our favorite winter stories, Snowmen at Christmas by Caralyn Buehner. We love making up stories about what our snow people do when we're not home.

I love it! Love the idea of using brussel sprouts, too!
